Katapult Design is an award-winning product design and development consultancy working at the intersection of creativity, technology and craft. For nearly two decades we’ve helped ambitious companies from startups to global brands bring impactful products to life across consumer tech, med-tech, e-mobility, industrial equipment, lifestyle and beyond.
We’re now looking for a talented mid-weight Industrial Designer – Emerging Leader to join our team. Someone with genuine design pedigree, production-ready detailing skills, an existing track record managing projects and with the ambition to grow within a studio that’s pushing for global impact.
Who We're Looking For
You’ll work inside a fast-paced, highly creative team that loves solving complex problems and delivering design that works beautifully in the real world.
Day-to-day you will:
Design, develop and detail products for manufacture across a wide range of categories.
Work closely with our design, engineering and strategy teams to bring ideas from concept to production.
Contribute to workshops, research, prototyping and client presentations.
Move comfortably between sketching, CAD, CMF exploration, DFM refinement and supplier engagement. A strong knowledge of digital design, IoT and deep tech would be considered favourably.
Collaborate deeply. Your best work will come from working with others, not in isolation.
Help raise the bar creatively and technically on every project.
You’ll lead projects and work closely with clients and suppliers to deliver world class solutions.
You’ll be supported by senior leaders and surrounded by a team that genuinely believes we’re better together.
Location
Our Fitzroy (Melbourne) studio is the preferred home for this role.
However, for an exceptional applicant, we’re open to placement in our Sydney or Byron Bay studios.
