International Women’s Day 2023

Today is International Women’s Day. Yes, let’s acknowledge that and state it up front. Today is a day that we can thank all the special women in our lives. It’s a great thing.

It’s also a day for some reflection here at Katapult. Like many industrial design consultancies, we started life 14 years ago as a bunch of guys and 1 woman. It more or less remained that similar gender split for 8 years or so (admittedly not by deliberate choice).

About 4 years ago we made a conscious decision to increase the diversity of our team. It’s exciting to now realise that we have gone some way towards that.

The women in our team are integral to the success of Katapult performing roles from senior management through to junior designers.

We are delighted to help encourage women to get into design, particularly industrial design and engineering which have been traditionally dominated by men. What is super exciting is our females are leaders within our team and will become leaders within our industry. Full power to them.
