  1. Purpose

Katapult Design is committed to a culture of integrity, ethical conduct and accountability. This Whistleblower Protection Policy ensures that anyone who raises concerns about misconduct, breaches of policy, harmful impacts, or unethical behaviour is safe from retaliation and supported throughout the process.

It complements our Grievance & Complaints Policy and forms part of our risk management framework.  

  1. Scope

This policy applies to:

  • Employees

  • Contractors and suppliers

  • Clients and partners

  • Community members

  • Any stakeholder who interacts with Katapult Design

Protected disclosures may relate to:

  • Illegal or unethical conduct

  • Misrepresentation or fraud

  • Human rights or environmental concerns

  • Misconduct relating to controversial industries

  • Breaches of Katapult policies, values, or legal obligations

  • Retaliation against someone who has raised a concern

  1. Protected Whistleblowers

Any stakeholder who reports a concern in good faith is protected, including internal and external parties. Protection applies regardless of role, seniority, or relationship to Katapult.

  1. How to Make a Protected Disclosure

Katapult provides confidential channels for reporting:

  • Email: concerns@katapultdesign.com.au

  • Website reporting form (anonymous option)

  • Direct contact with the CEO or Leadership Team

  • Anonymous written submission

Whistleblowers may request anonymity, and this will be respected unless disclosure is legally required.

  1. Confidentiality Commitments

Katapult ensures:

  • The whistleblower’s identity remains confidential

  • Information is shared only on a strict need-to-know basis

  • Consent is sought before sharing information with additional parties

  • Secure record-keeping for all disclosures

  • The outcome of any investigation remains confidential

Breaches of confidentiality will result in disciplinary action.

  1. Protection Against Retaliation

Katapult strictly prohibits any form of retaliation, including:

  • Dismissal or demotion

  • Reduced opportunities or exclusion

  • Harassment, bullying, or intimidation

  • Reputational harm

  • Threats or implied consequences

If retaliation is identified:

  • Immediate corrective action will be taken

  • Individuals responsible will face disciplinary measures

  • The whistleblower will be fully supported and protected

  1. Investigation and Resolution Process

Katapult will:

  • Acknowledge all submissions

  • Conduct a fair and impartial investigation

  • Engage an independent advisor where appropriate

  • Conduct risk assessments for vulnerable individuals

  • Communicate progress, where doing so does not compromise confidentiality

  • Inform the whistleblower once the matter is resolved

  1. Training & Awareness

Katapult will ensure:

  • Leaders handling disclosures receive enhanced training

  • Staff are aware of their rights and protections

  • This policy is publicly accessible on our website
