Turning feedback into focused innovation
After the launch of the first-generation product, the yeseco team received a wave of detailed customer feedback highlighting clear opportunities to improve both the user experience and the product’s manufacturability. Over 12 months of development went into Version 2 of the product. The challenge was to refine the design to elevate usability and to ensure it could be produced cost-effectively and reliably at scale. The goal was to deliver a second-generation product that would address key pain points and streamline production to maintain quality, reduce waste, and control cost.
Collaborative design for performance and production
Katapult began by analysing detailed customer feedback from V1, identifying recurring themes around durability, ergonomics, materials, and assembly processes. Simultaneously, the design team reviewed the product’s fit-for-purpose in terms of tooling, assembly, supply chain readiness, and cost targets. Working closely with Yeseco’s engineering and manufacturing partners, we prioritised updates such as a recycled-plastic brush-head base and improved natural sisal bristles.
We simplified geometries for easier tooling, optimised the magnetic stand to work through sink walls up to 5 mm thick, and improved assembly sequences for higher yields. Rapid prototyping, design-for-manufacture reviews, and supplier alignment ensured that each change delivered both better user experience and better production performance.
A smarter, stronger, more sustainable product
Version 2 integrates all the major improvements identified from V1 feedback, including a more durable structure, smoother assembly, enhanced ergonomics, and a material upgrade path: recycled polypropylene with natural sisal bristles that mitigate mould and extend product lifespan. The manufacturing process is now more efficient and scalable, with reduced complexity, less waste, and a supply chain prepared for higher-volume production. Katapult and yeseco have together created a product that delivers a better experience for users and greater manufacturing confidence for the brand.
