Commercialising a Complex Concept

Nutromics™ had a goal to develop a wearable patch capable of monitoring biochemical changes in real-time, using tiny micro-needles. The challenge was to design a mechanism that could safely and reliably activate these micro-needles, deliver accurate readings and maintain sterility, all within a compact and easy-to-use format. Additionally, we needed to consider the broader implications such as market adaptability, hospital use and the entire lifecycle of the product from application to disposal.

Product as Part of a Service

Our holistic design approach helped Nutromics™ visualise the full product lifecycle, from needle administration to monitoring and patient feedback. This resulted in a highly functional LAB ON A PATCH™, supported by a comprehensive product ecosystem that includes a hub, digital app and packaging solutions. By reducing costly iterations through strategic planning and user insights we delivered a solution that not only met technical and functional requirements but was also ready for market feedback and investment opportunities.
