At Katapult we do a lot of work with startups and entrepreneurs and we love it. The projects are often innovative, sometimes challenging and always fast paced. Founders tend to be in a hurry and that suits us just fine. One thing for certain is we are nimble enough to cope with any unexpected pivots.

Our team recently supported Fotomerchant to realise their new product, a set of add on hardware and software tools that help professional photographers capture and handle large sets of images in real time.

Working closely with the founders, we helped develop the product hardware with a considered UX and a sophisticated, contemporary aesthetic. The equipment not only attaches to standard camera equipment seamlessly, but provides a professional level upgrade without detracting from the core task of capturing great images.

Our process was one of exploration, prototyping, testing and refinement. This is pretty normal for us, but in the case of Fotomerchant it was super helpful to have various iterations of prototype to test and improve on, especially as the electronics hardware was being developed in parallel.
